<sub>The overall concept for my piece was Technology. The innards of what makes technology work, the cards that allow us to see what is on the screen, the drives we use to store our data, the mouse we use to navigate through the digital world. Technology in all its ins, outs, information storage, and input devices. Technology and the world it opens once you understand how to utilize it.

I use technology in every project I do. Whether it is a simple sketch with my trusty .7 mechanical draft pencil or a detailed painting done entirely in Photoshop with my LaPazz. We use technology in my field not only as a precision tool but as a canvas, the computer allows us to create beautifully designed graphics that deal in so many more dimensions than was previously plausible.

The scanner was the perfect media for this project. It’s much more modern than the camera which ties it in to modern design; and it seems as if the scanner is a large part of modern graphic design. As graphic designers we utilize scanners by scanning in textures, scanning artwork, scanning things to create color swatches, scanning things for measurements, or trying to match a certain font for a client.

In this project, the scanner allows us to be creative with the placement and arrangement of the objects used in the composition. It allows us to add an interesting aspect to the project and shows us a way to create that we might not have known about.</sub>
